Day 20 and 21: heading home

Sadly we've come to the end of our epic African adventure. We've had so many highlights. It seems so long ago we arrived in Cape Town.

So here are a few of our highlights:

1) dyer island cruise

This day was just amazing. Seeing our first whale in the wild, let alone the seals, sharks and peguins. What a great day!

2) lions head at sunrise

This was simply beautiful with an amazing view over the city of Cape Town.

3) dune 45 in the Namibian desert

After waking up in our favourite camp site, we climbed due 45 at sunrise, looking over the beautiful Namibian desert.

4) etosha national park

Going on a real safari is something I've wanted to do since I was a child. It was everything I dreamed of and more. Such a fantastic experience.

5) the watering hole on our last night.

Sadly we have no pics, but our last night in etosha when we saw the family of rhinos at the watering hole was amazing.

Other best bits!!

Best meal: - willougbys in Cape Town for the amazing seafood

Fave camp site: - sossusvlei in the Namibian desert

Best coffee: truth in Cape Town

Best night sleep: first night glamping in Windhoek

Biggest regret: not booking the longer tour up to Victoria falls

We'd also like to say, the people we spent the overlanding trip with were absolutely awesome. The guides. The tents. The food. The whole thing was great and we couldn't recommend it highly enough.
