We started in the dark. Guided by head torches and followed the path circling round and up.
The path was pretty good to begin with but became much more rocky near the top and was some rock climbing near the summit.
The views were spectacular with 360 degree views of Cape Town and table mountain. We got to the summit after about an hour. Just before sunrise. It was absolutely stunning.
Heading back down was a little tricker and much much busier but the whole experience was amazing.
The rest of the morning was spent saying a sad good bye to BIG backpackers and moving to the new hostel, Ashanti ready to start the overlandjng trip. We checked in and dumped out bags then headed back to the biscuit mill in Woodstock for they're Saturday food market.
It was basically like being in shoreditch except with outstanding wine selection. We sat in the sunshine listening to live music and eating the most scrumptious food.
We headed back for our group meeting for the trip and ended up finally going for steak on our last night in Cape Town. Much to Stevie's joy. We went to a great place called nelsons eyes highly recommended.
These photos of sunrise are brilliant. You could get one published in the travel magazine. What a wonderful experience. South African wine good? You have fitted a lot not your trip and I look forward to seeing all your photos. Amazing. Keep safe lotsa love xx
