Day three: Camps bay and bo kaap

Today's plan was again changeable due to weather variabilities. I was keen to go for a swim down at the famous sea point pavilion despite the rain, however we arrived with a storm brewing to find the open water pools empty and shut for winter. Plan b was a cycle along the coast, however as we approached the bike park the heavens opened with front ways, sideways and upwards rain.

Plan c. Another hipster coffee shop. We pootled along the road to jaryds. For amazing coffee and second breakfast.

The weather then began to clear so we decided to walk along the coast line to camps bay, via Clifton. This pretty cliffside walk took about and hour with the path wedged between the ocean and the mountains.

We arrived at the beautiful camps bay, stephen slightly sunburnt and Sami desperate for a swim.

Despite the beautiful sunshine, dipping a toe in was enough. It was freezing!

Despite the cold it must be one of the most beautiful beaches I've visited. In the shade of the mountains, white sand. Unspoilt.

Next stop lunch. Camps bay is seafood central. And despite overloading stephen with seafood on our recent Wales trip, we went to the highly recommended Codfather. Set like a fishmonger, you choose your fish or choice and they cook it up for you. We went for swordfish, loungustines, calamari and local white fish.

Super yummy.

We then headed back to town to go on a walking tour and explore the colourful streets of Bo Kaap. This area was full of minorities until recently. When it's now become rather hipster.

It's rather pretty and very photographic.
